The Challenge
MaisonAtelier was operating with a five-year-old WordPress site that no longer reflected the quality of their work. Prospective clients were bouncing before reaching the portfolio. The studio needed a digital presence that matched the tactile luxury of their physical spaces.
The Solution
We designed and built a custom Next.js site driven by a Sanity CMS so the team can manage projects without a developer. The portfolio is a full-bleed, scroll-driven experience with GSAP-powered transitions between projects. Every animation was choreographed to match the studio's unhurried, considered aesthetic.
The Result
Average session duration increased from 1m 12s to 4m 38s. Inquiry form submissions tripled in the first month. The site has since become the studio's primary business development tool.
How we built it.
Three weeks developing the visual language: typography, motion principles, colour palette, and editorial layout references, before any wireframes.
Interactive Figma prototype covering every scroll state and transition, reviewed and approved by the founders before development began.
8-week build in Next.js App Router. GSAP ScrollTrigger for all scroll animations. Sanity Studio configured for non-technical content management.
Lighthouse score of 98/100. Images served via next/image with AVIF/WebP. Core Web Vitals green across all pages before launch.
